Practical Examples for a Green Home and Lifestyle! Learn about affordable, sustainable living options by taking a class or tour at the EarthWays Center. From repainting a room to rehabbing or building a new house, ideas abound! EarthWays Center is open for drop-in Public Tours on the 3rd Saturday & Sunday of every month. EarthWays Center, a three-story Victorian residence built in 1885, was renovated in 1994 to showcase practical demonstrations of energy efficient systems, recycled products and waste reduction practices. Today this handsome educational facility houses the division of the Missouri Botanical Garden specializing in sustainability education and practical greening for buildings and everyday consumer choices.
Systems and products displayed at EarthWays Center offer visitors a springboard to rethink product design and building operations to achieve affordable resource efficiency. Visitors will experience hands-on applications of sustainable lifestyle choices. Most EarthWays Center features are readily available for use in general construction and renovation. Examples of things to see:
